Trip across this world as you pass by… – Introduction

Scroll down to content

Hi everyone,

Currently this site exists as an epilogue to my big 2019 trip. I don’t post much on Facebook (though I will post links to this site on there) and I don’t have an Instagram account so I thought this would be a good way to post some pics and thoughts I had about the trip. (Yes I know it’s not hard to do either of those things so there’s no need to point that out 😉 )

I had intended to be doing this as I traveled, and in an ideal world I would have, but technical, time and motivational issues got in my way. Instead I’m treating this as my ‘end of holiday’ project before I get on back to the daily grind (I missed this deadline too).

I started this blog in 2012 when I found myself with some extra time on my hands. I made it a grand total of 3 posts in (and one unpublished draft) (these are now archived). It wasn’t supposed to change the world, just get my thoughts out there along with everyone else’s. For now as I said it will serve as the epilogue to my trip, but keep an eye on it from time to time, who knows where I go from here.

My plan is to go chronologically and make a post for each week of the 9 weeks I was away – in a way this will simulate if I had actually been posting as I went (I changed my plan a little). I might also make some themed posts for some of the photos I took and perhaps the odd dedicated post for specific adventures I went on or thoughts I had.

For instance, what on Earth is that Phantom of the Opera/Eyes Wide Shut mask doing in my luggage?

My thanks to all my friends who took an interest in what I was doing and wanted to know and see more. I’m probably over-servicing your needs with this site but I hope you can elicit some of the fun and adventure I had and be inspired to have some yourself. Please get in touch to have a chat about anything you see.

Oh by the way I should probably highlight where I went and give you a teaser for upcoming content and an insight into the slightly bizarre route I took.
